Introduction Post

I think we've been spending enough time together (and for me, it's been very enjoyable time) that we should get to know each other a bit more. So here's a post for that purpose. Some things I'd love to know about you, my fellow fen, are:

-Your name and a little about yourself. (Age, job, where you live, anything about you that you consider important)

-How you got here. (History of the path you took to finding this game, not just how you heard about it but what made you care enough to actually check it out. And what made you interested enough to want to stay and spend hours and hours discussing it)

ETA: I had more, but after writing my own answers I realized that this was plenty to start with.

I'm vegetarian as well. Since I was six years old.

Was your mom stay-at-home? I know of some people who do pretty well being a substitute teacher and mom at the same time, since it lets them be home all the time their kids are home. I always sort of liked that idea. But hopefully once I get a full-time classroom of my own, I'll love it so much that I won't want to stop.

Yep, my mom was a stay-at-home too, but I think she did it too long -- about 16 years! I can't imagine being able to afford being out of the workforce that long.

I don't think I'd ever want to be a sub teacher, kids are always so hard on them. :P

It's not as bad as you think! Most days the kids don't eat you if you don't let them, and they're actually usually pretty relieved once they see that their temporary teacher isn't mean or incompetent. And you get to be known around schools after a while, so when you walk through the halls there are tons of kids waving and smiling at you.

Of course, I live in a good district, and there's a reason I won't teach older than 6th graders.
