Introduction Post

I think we've been spending enough time together (and for me, it's been very enjoyable time) that we should get to know each other a bit more. So here's a post for that purpose. Some things I'd love to know about you, my fellow fen, are:

-Your name and a little about yourself. (Age, job, where you live, anything about you that you consider important)

-How you got here. (History of the path you took to finding this game, not just how you heard about it but what made you care enough to actually check it out. And what made you interested enough to want to stay and spend hours and hours discussing it)

ETA: I had more, but after writing my own answers I realized that this was plenty to start with.

Where in Oregon? I miss it. I've thought about going back next year, when my boyfriend graduates (his major, by the way, is information science. I think it's terribly funny how many information and library science people that makes around here). Did you ever go to Country Fair in Eugene? Have you been to a Jason Webley show? I haven't visited Oregon since I left, and it's been over two years now!

I heard he put out a new album?

Were you there that time he came to perform at Reed and everybody was drunk and rowdy and horrible? Or, oh God, the time he came at Renn Fayre and someone stole his carrot? I knew then that I was ready to graduate and get out of "The Bubble" for good. Blech.

I mean, I loved Reed. In many ways. But maybe moreso during classes than during social functions.

Corvallis! I never made it to the Country Fair, sadly, despite my best intentions. And I must admit, I don't know who Jason Webley is.

I miss Oregon dreadfully, particularly the coast and the mountains. Fortunately, I'll be back there next summer to get married on Cannon Beach. :D

Corvallis! I am aware of it, though I don't think I have actually been there.

I miss the flowers and trees in Oregon. And the roses in Portland in Spring. And the cherry blossoms. I sort of even miss the silly drizzly rain that falls for weeks at a time.

Does Corvallis have those things?

Oh yes! Corvallis is about an hour/90 minutes south of Portland, ten miles off I-5. Willamette Valley! It is full of roses and cherry blossoms and glorious sweet rain and liberal intellectuals. ♥
