(This is part of what's made me so sad about Draco having feelings for Hermione: he knows she isn't an animal, he knows she isn't property, and he literally couldn't, even if he would have which he wouldn't, use his authority to force her into anything. But I don't know if they could have a relationship as equals, at least not yet, and unlike Jeremy and Maureen, he sees her every day and has for years.)
