I am totally unaware of a four term system! Most placxes have the standard three, in colloquial (ie non Oxbridge terms) its Autumn Spring and Summer Terms. Trimester just makes me think of pregnancy, and also suggests three equal parts, which terms are(ish) of the school year but not of the calender year.
