I am cracking up at a lot of things in these conversations and AMAs, but what drove me to post this PM (which I am posting here, because putting a PM in the relevant discussion seemed a bit disruptive) is Molly's post in "the master-apprentice-type relationship." Oh, my. I don't think she's likely to get an answer, but what a gloriously irate question!

Anything you've seen and not wanted to break the flow by commenting on it there? Feel free to comment here.

*cackle* Oh mercy, yes.

What I am enjoying most about this entire set of topics is the sense of being a visitor at THE BEST WRAP PARTY EVER! So much joy (and sadness too!) and sharing...

I actually had my stomach clench and get tense after I'd asked my question of Barty. Because, y'know, he's dangerous and unpredictable and I had NO idea how he'd react.

Kudos to the player for making him really into the boogeyman.

(Sorry. I have no idea how he got in here. He's been asked to leave, I promise.)

Thank you so much for saying so, though. Barty was absolutely the most difficult character I wrote. Sincerely. And he spoke the fewest words.

Auror Crouch, I don't believe for a moment that you do not take *some* pride in your ability to scare the pants off a witch separated from you by 15 years and 2000 miles.

I really don't.

I'm just glad I'm that far away from you.

Writing bad guys is *such* a thrill sometimes, but aaaaaaaghad it's hard. There's the temptation to soften them down, and there's the temptation to make them mustache-twirling robots, and you did neither with Barty. He was broken, scary as hell, and human. Kudos to you for doing such an awesome job of it.

Dear heart, don't frighten the nice folks.

Much.

But weirdly enough, he was one of the highest number of posts, I believe!

"Well...we did all die, what." The icon choice was perfect!

And Regulus stepping out for the evening so his flatmate could have some privacy made me screamlaugh.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the conversations between characters who were too divided by time/death/faction etc to interact much or at all in game - Arthur/Desai, Regulus/Justin/Barty.

Also, characters interacting directly with the fen makes me smile. (Well, except Barty up there, who made me want to hide under my bed...)

And just seeing Reg again. Pansy wasn't the only one who missed her pirate!

Aw. Thank you. It makes me smile that you like Regulus.

I loved seeing Arthur again. I really love Arthur. What a good dad!

And on the other end of the spectrum, I've missed Savitha Desai since she died. She was such a great Death Eater.

I kind of wanted to back up Sally-Anne on the usefulness of EMDR. (Which I have a habit of referring to as 'the friendly Cylon'.)

Oh, zing, Linus. A palpable hit, a most excellent hit! (The one about his sibs attacking Barty, wands blazing.)

For all that Seamus frustrated me to read, I was so glad to see that Rosier's love for him was genuine. Kid deserved that.

(And now I want to write fic from Rosier's POV about that relationship, sigh.)

Thank you, Tosha, for making it absolutely clear how people of good will who weren't also interested in doing awful things might find the Dark Arts bans absolutely horrifying.

[identity profile] atheilen.livejournal.com 2015-09-08 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
And of course it would be Tosha who made sure to make that clear. Who else?

Linus's answer to my question about Muggle poetry made me smile so much. <3

Eeheehehee Rachel's reply. Eeheehee. Well played.

(Though Tosha's original comment gave me a settingbunny of great awfulness about the Potterverse in the 1600s because apparently the writerbrain is a terrible thing to let loose.)

It's funny, I hadn't fanficced for years before Alternity, and now I'm up to my arse in HOW DO I LEVERAGE on top of Potterverse-not-fixfic-but-realisations-of-broken and related.

I will see if AO3 happens. (Likely depending on DAMNIT ELIOT.)

Well you've certainly hit on all the reasons that Daphne was so drawn to him!
