While I'm posting here (for the first time!), is anyone else thinking the Muggleborn British ex-pat in France might be Justin Finch-Fletchley? His family should have the money and resources to get out of there, after all...

The 'our world' version of disemvoweling was invented (well, at least with that name) by Teresa Nielsen-Hayden, as part of her moderation strategy for her (and her husband's, and various other people's) blog with high comment traffic.
