I mean, even given ~24 hours, there's obviously still a lot of vengeful damage he can do on his way out, but I also wonder if it's occurred to him to check on his horcruxes recently. Or was the state of his new body enough to trigger his reaction, even without knowledge of the destruction of almost all of his horcruxes ...

From his conversation with Alice, I was pretty sure Albus wouldn't survive. They needed someone with incredibly powerful magic to cast the modified fidelius over that large of an area.

Did Rod take out Ned:
a) because he was fighting Hydra and thus a threat to the bloodline
b) because he's Lana's husband and thus a threat to the continued use of the broodmare
or
c) because he happened to be in the way at the time?
Or possibly d) all of the above.
Dear Rod: even when you do something useful you're a creepy, creepy man.

You may wish to consider, perhaps before you are en route to your next incarnation, the possibility that the possibly semi-sapient magical architectural construct intended for the instruction of children may not in fact take a liking to people who gleefully plan to slaughter said children.

Sorry, Tosha, but I'm not sorry about this one at all.
