I am cracking up at a lot of things in these conversations and AMAs, but what drove me to post this PM (which I am posting here, because putting a PM in the relevant discussion seemed a bit disruptive) is Molly's post in "the master-apprentice-type relationship." Oh, my. I don't think she's likely to get an answer, but what a gloriously irate question!

Anything you've seen and not wanted to break the flow by commenting on it there? Feel free to comment here.

I actually had my stomach clench and get tense after I'd asked my question of Barty. Because, y'know, he's dangerous and unpredictable and I had NO idea how he'd react.

Kudos to the player for making him really into the boogeyman.

Auror Crouch, I don't believe for a moment that you do not take *some* pride in your ability to scare the pants off a witch separated from you by 15 years and 2000 miles.

I really don't.

I'm just glad I'm that far away from you.

Dear heart, don't frighten the nice folks.

Much.

(Sorry. I have no idea how he got in here. He's been asked to leave, I promise.)

Thank you so much for saying so, though. Barty was absolutely the most difficult character I wrote. Sincerely. And he spoke the fewest words.

Writing bad guys is *such* a thrill sometimes, but aaaaaaaghad it's hard. There's the temptation to soften them down, and there's the temptation to make them mustache-twirling robots, and you did neither with Barty. He was broken, scary as hell, and human. Kudos to you for doing such an awesome job of it.

Well you've certainly hit on all the reasons that Daphne was so drawn to him!

But weirdly enough, he was one of the highest number of posts, I believe!
