I've been wondering this for awhile, but since Year Three is the next up, I may as well ask the question now...

Who will be the titular Prisoner of Azkaban in this universe?

I'm thinking either Snape or Peter. We haven't heard what actually happened to either of them, have we?

Me too! I'm not sure what would bring him to Hogwarts, though. Maybe just wanting to protect Lily's son, but why now?

No idea. I've just spent thirty minutes looking at the summary on Harry Potter Lexicon, and I have no bloody idea how they're going to go about it. Almost everything is different!

That just makes me more excited for the fifth, sixth and seventh years. Things are just going to get more and more different all the time!

What about the third year, though? Hermione can't get the time turner because she's a muggle-born, Hagrid isn't around to show the 3rd years Buckbeak, Black isn't in Azkaban so he can't break out and come scare the pants off Ron. If I had to write this story, I'd tear my hair out.

Which is why I'm glad they're doing it and I'm not, actually.

Well, I'm assuming the Prisoner (whoever it is) will scare someone else, instead... maybe Draco? Or if Sally-Anne's rat, I could see her being in Ron's place. But then it would have to be a female prisoner, since men can't get in the girls' dorms. (Oh! But if it's going to be someone in Slytherin playing Ron's role, then maybe the prisoner has to be from Slytherin too, to better find it and sneak in?)

And if they still use Buckbeak, I guess Professor Brutka will have to bring him into the story.

And I have no idea about the time turner. Who's likely to be taking too many classes? Sally-Anne maybe, and Padma, but even then I doubt they'd try as many as Hermione did.

If the prisoner has to be from Slytherin, then my money's on Snape. I just can't figure out how Snape would know Peter is a rat. Also, why would Peter have remained a rat when Voldemort came to power? He would have been on the winning side then.

As for the time turner, maybe Pansy? Or Hydra, so she can take everything her mother wants and still take what she wants as well?

Have you noticed, by the way, that instead of the DADA teachers getting fired every year, it's the Head of Gryffindor? Lockhart was both, but I find it interesting. I wonder who will be Gryffindor Head next year... and who will teach DADA, since Lupin can't!

True. Hmmm. So Tom would have to have taken the curse off the DADA teachers and switched it to the Gryffindor Heads, since he put the original curse on before he came to power, after being denied the job by Dumbledore. I could see him doing that, he's vindictive enough.
