I'm pretty sure someone would change the password once the battle is over. Several of the order are hot on security, but maybe not as paranoid as Severus.

I want to know what Neville handed to Harry. Was it just part of Voldie's ritual or something more interesting?

I'm thinking it might have been a gum wrapper. It would be a wonderful (but extremely sad) parallel from canon with Alice.

If it was, he was not completely gone mentally, enough of him remained for the gesture. And that gave Ron the chance to move without being seen. Fitting that he should have a role in Voldie's final downfall

At first I thought it was a gum wrapper which made me choke. But then I started wondering how he would have got hold of gum as I doubt they would care enough about their prisoners to let them have gum.

That's a good point. I wonder what they would have given Neville. I'm sure Eton has very few of the comforts St. Mungos provides.
