Below is not entirely in date order, as some plots overlap with others. Hopefully it will make sense, nevertheless.
- The Ministry insisted that only Muggles and Muggleborns were ill (although the Order knew better). It seems that Casseiopeia Black recently died of something that may well have been the illness, and several other halfbloods or purebloods may be ill.
- Amycus Carrow formed a NEWT study group for Transfigurations. When Sally-Anne walked in on one of their meetings, Lana Cruciated her. (Luna's response was very Luna - and she went through with it, out of curiosity.) Apparently Lana thought she was eavesdropping. Bellatrix approved. Harry didn't. Dean was reminded of the camps. Ernie was scared. The Board met to discuss the use of the curse at Hogwarts. Jeremy Stretton told Lana off over it.
- Cornelius Fudge became Minister of Magic, taking over from Dolores Umbridge. A quarantine was instituted, as a result of the public pureblood illnesses. As a result of the restrictions, Tonks moved in with Remus. Eventually the quarantine tightened further.
- Regulus tortured Xeno Lovegood, apparently over the Ravenclaw Diadem but possibly also over the Quibbler (and posted cryptically about his feelings about it). Xeno was reclassified as a halfblood with the disease, igniting anti-halfblood prejudice at Hogwarts.
- Something strange happened in Transfiguration, and it seemed to be related to the Sally-Anne Cruciatus incident. The Carrows and Acton rearranged their classrooms to separate out the halfbloods. Eventually Ron got Cruciated by Alecto Carrow for complaining about the changes.
- Lavender Brown made an ill-advised floo call; the restrictions on Hogwarts were tightened even more.
- Dennis's magic manifested in a hail of scones - and it kept happening, all the time. Dennis was ashamed.
- Somebody hexed Padma's hair off (she thought it was Ron) and certain Gryffindors made a scene in the Great Hall. It turned out that it was actually her comb that was hexed.
- Moebius Ollivander tried to molest Hermione. The protective spell McGonagall put on her zapped him before he could do anything. Everybody agreed he was wrong, but sometimes for very different reasons.
- The Ministry appeared to be researching a cure for the illness - but Bill suspected they were actually behind the illness, and so they were. Sirius revealed it, and McGonagall tried to pry. The official story is that Sirius was at fault.
- Moebius was petrified and Dennis was killed by the basilisk, sending the castle into high alert. Ginny had another incident and people got suspicious.
- An Order operative, Aloysius Archer, was caught and committed suicide. Moddey Dhoo created a memorial to Order members. His young relatives at Hogwarts had a hard time of it. Bill was interrogated (but eventually cleared).
- Nymphadora fell ill, and Narcissa was concerned. The quarantine tightened yet further, restricting owls; Selwyn answered questions about it. Some students hoarded goods; in response, the prefects opened a shop to redistribute them.
- On his birthday, Ron was cursed to respond to everybody who wrote in the journals. (Funny, but scary.)
- The Order continued to prepare to try and get through the wards by sea.
- The quarantine continued to impact daily life. Nymphadora slipped into a coma. Xeno was still inaccessible. Supposedly, the situation was improving (but not really).
- Regulus got ever stranger, and Pansy grew ever closer to him. Eventually, Lucius encouraged them to back off from being friends.
- Hermione snuck around after hours; Draco was weirdly nice to her. It became clear that she, Draco and Harry were brewing Polyjuice Potion to infiltrate one of the advanced Transfigurations study sessions.
- Pansy and Regulus continued to communicate, but it wasn't quite the same. Regulus was summoned to Voldemort's presence.
- Tonks was given an experimental cure, and woke up! The quarantine eased (owl post returned), and the Lord Protector came on a surprise visit to Hogwarts. Xeno Lovegood died (or was disappeared) and Sirius blamed Regulus.
- Regulus was entrusted with a mysterious task, which he apparently finds distressing; Pansy frets. Padma's and Parvati's younger brother Sanji is missing. McGonagall cannot bring herself to believe the two things are related. After several days without news, he was found, and the news was very bad - very very bad.
- Sirius continued to write Grim Truths: 1/17/93; 2/20/93.
