I confess that I frequently have moments where I get confused about which secrets which characters know, but wow. Sirius's most recent Order Only private message to Hermione suggests that Harry knows Hermione has some sort of faster-than-owl way to secretly communicate with Sirius? Does he know it is a secret way of reading and writing in the journals? If I knew that Hermione had told Harry any part of her closer-than-geography-and-other-barriers-should-permit connection with Sirius, I'd forgotten it.
Imagine how hacked off Draco would be if he knew Hermione and Harry were keeping that sort of illegal secret from him!
But seriously, this feels like a revelation about the state of Harry and Hermione's relationship, and I'm glad to have it. If Harry knows he can talk to Hermione about Sirius and knows that Sirius can send him messages not just by owl, but through Hermione, it hints that Harry treats Hermione as a more substantial kind of confidant than it has seemed up until now.

Date: 2012-01-07 02:07 pm (UTC)I really crave more *visible*, *readable* evidence of what sort of relationship Harry and Hermione have developed, more visible, readable evidence of what secrets they share, not only about Sirius but about Snape. So much is behind the veil of their story--almost everything has been kept off the journals--so it's very difficult to know even the most significant aspects of those most central characters to the Alternity story. They have popped up to DO important stuff at climax points in the plot, but then they've always slipped into the shadows again. (We know the marginal characters much better.)
