Canonically, Filch had the Marauders' Map before F&G stole it (years before they gave it to Harry). But where is Filch in this universe? Probably in a camp. So did F&G ever have the map? Is it still stored away somewhere?
Long-shot -- I'm thinking about the "very useful . . . little odds and ends" that F & G discovered in the compost heap (http://alt-gredforge.livejournal.com/980.html) during their detention in early September.
