...is absolutely shattered right now.

I really have to congratulate the players on not being afraid of going for a plot twist like this one but oh god, did you have to?

Somebody come sit with me and do some virtual hand-holding.

All the characters seem to be doing a lot of hand-holding and related activities.

:offers honey almond macaroons, coffee, and chocolate cheddar cheese. Not necessarily together, mind you:

And handholding, yeah.

(Though yeah. The characters taking care of each other after, too.)

Everything, and everyone. This is beautiful and awful. Luna and Linus and Bill and Neville and Terry and ugh Umbridge and the DEs, why on Earth are you still following that evil awful

It's amazingly done, but so sad and infuriating and perfect and terrible. Yes. Definitely congratulations.

of course, given the existing relationships, I'm guessing their efforts will not be received in the spirit they are being made.

Over in Shadow Unit fandom, the term ECR is much in vogue: Emotionally Complex Response.

Yeah. That'd fit this.

I was sitting in traffic this afternoon, thinking about the Weasley kids, especially Bill, who was maybe the closest to Arthur. And the Lion King's 'He Lives in You' (Reprise) (http://www.lionking.org/lyrics/OBCR/HeLivesInYou.html) came up on my iPod shuffle, and I just about lost it, sitting there at the damn stoplight.

It has been an honour and a privilege to play Arthur from the very beginning of the game. This ending for him was envisioned from the very beginning, too. I wavered a couple times, but no. This is the ending he was meant to have.

I have come to love and respect Arthur so much, and it is so, so difficult to say goodbye to him, not to mention the opportunity to interact with other characters, especially the members of the Weasley family. Thank you for caring for him as much as me.

And now I'm going to sit down with a glass of Bailey's Irish Cream (since I don't have any Firewhiskey) and raise in a heartfelt toast to Arthur Weasley:

I am so proud to have helped (in a small way) to bring you to life. You've made me a better writer, a better parent, and a better person.

Thank you.

Yeah, there's a line in Remus' Obit for Arthur that made me dissolve in tears just now:

" May we all someday be as judged with the mercy and compassion Arthur had for Dominic Selwyn, in the moment where he saw Dominic not as a Death Eater, not as an enemy, but as a fellow human being in terrible danger."

I'm a bit late to the party (which somehow seems the wrong word to use), since I missed a few days reading, but . . . I'm sitting here bawling my eyes out like it's my own father who's died. And the bit with Seamus and . . . just a ball of emotions right now.

It's a testament to the player and to the whole of Alternity, these emotions. Dunno if "thank you" is the right sentiment, but. Thank you.

Your portrayal was beautiful from start to finish. Thank you for sticking to it despite it being hard to let him go like this.

Thank you for making Alternity's Arthur the wonderful person he was. (I've been tearing up all over again every time I see another reference to his death.)

You've done a marvelous job, crafting this Arthur from what canon gives us and the impossible choices he would have had to make in this 'verse and the heart of him, the honorable and loving man. I was just thinking how often we see the Weasley children quoting something Dad told them; what a fitting legacy for his wisdom to live on in the voices of his children.

Thank you for giving us Alternity's Arthur Weasley.
