Hermione reports that Harry Marvolo is back in the library.
25 January
Sirius has a new correspondent. Professor Sinistra muses about the challenges of star-gazing in winter weather. Megan is doing well in her classes.
26 January
Dennis offers Master Harry some toffees. Sally-Anne finds it strange to be the mentor in Potions, instead of the one getting help. Pansy's birthday is about to arrive and she can afford a Kneazle, but doesn't know how to get one.
27 January
Molly wishes Kingsley a Happy Birthday! So does Sirius. Lucius has decided to take on two new business commitments. Fred and George congratulate Lee Jordan on a stunt well pulled. Sally-Anne hopes Pansy had a good birthday, too.
28 January
Padma thinks the revising group is getting very popular. Seamus is troubled by something Professor Binns said in class. Madam Pomfrey has taken inventory. Susan wants to audition for choir. Professor Carrow announces Lee Jordan's detention.
29 January
Neville grabs a minute to write about his classes. Professor Carrow forces Terry to serve detention with Lee. Sirius asks about Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel, and tells the order more about his owls from Harry. Hermione found a textbook and wants to return it to its owner. Padma thinks Venus is beautiful.
30 January
Owain is not getting a promotion from the Ministry. Lucius doubts Dolores' Umbridge's taste in office decorating and in event planning. Professor Slughorn sends Padma and Wayne Hopkins to the hospital wing. Padma is furious. Seamus receives reassurance from Mr Rosier. Professor Sinistra has solved, at least temporarily, the problem of students without appropriate cold-weather gear. Poppy annotates her list so Sirius can stock what she needs.
