Regulus says "Oh, Mordred," causing some alarm. Lucius posits an explanation. Professor McGonagall copes with students' stress over all the recent bad news.
26 April
Ron wonders if Padma and Parvati's brother has been found. Dean offers sympathy to Padma. Bill advises Arthur and Molly on following adoption procedures for Luna. Director Selwyn reinstates owl service to Hogwarts, though limited to letters for the time being. Padma appeals to his brother's kidnappers. Lana Sandoval institutes a lottery to manage the demand for school owls.
27 April
Sally-Anne devises a plan to circumvent the lottery system. Narcissa visits Tonks after a few days' neglect. Penelope needs a book Lavender has checked out from the library. Tonks greets the Order in her journal, but must finish by dictating to Remus. Dean fails to send his letter to his guardian, but is resolute about following the rules. Lavender wants Padma to meet her and Parvati early next morning. Luna accepts the Weasleys' offer.
28 April
Padma requests assistance with Lavender. Ernie thinks he may have mistaken his owl number. Ron reports on an disrupted Transfiguration lesson. Sally-Anne concurs that Lavender seems to have cracked. Peeves borrows Lavender's journal - and her body - to wreck havoc on the school. Narcissa changes her plans in order to dine with Regulus. Lavender regains her senses in the Hospital Wing. Padma goes home, along with Parvati, after their brother's body is recovered. Sally-Anne sends her letter to Mrs Weasley, along with a letter from Ron and two more for her to forward to Pansy's mother and Neville's grandmother.
29 April
Sirius confirms that his false identity is being watched and he is going to check his tracks. Ron points out a comment Professor Amycus Carrow made to Padma, believing it a confession of guilt. Alice distracts herself from the dire news by writing about spring at Moddey Dhoo.
30 April
Narcissa proposes a new location for Barty to take tea with her. Padma sees progress toward mourning her brother properly, but little movement in the case to find his murderer. Percy thanks Penny Clearwater for switching patrols with him.
