Tracking the last week or so of conversations and plots is making me feel quite a lot like Cedric. Trying to think like a snake is HARD.

I am feeling so very sorry for Mr. Snape right now.

Poor Mr. Snape. All those crossed-out bits. And it's really just the story of his *life*, which makes it all the sadder. Lots and lots of crossed-out bits and might-have-beens.

I want to give him a mug of tea and a plate of scones, but I know that won't actually fix the problem. :(

I mean, at least Ron is okay, and he didn't end up becoming a Councilwizard, at least - and I have to wonder if his brother inadvertantly spared him that fate :(
It's sad how much the Protectorate has warped Percy from what he was in canon; he wasn't particularly likeable in canon, and was a little too impressed by power, but he wasn't... what he's become. Bill's right: "You poor stupid bastard. You've firmly set your feet on the road to Hell now."

(I'm also really happy that Harry didn't get the Mark; arrogance on Voldie's part, thinking he didn't need to control him, maybe?)
