Confusion

Ok, so I've been rereading Draco's and Hermione's (among others) journals, as well as past entries on alt_fen (because apparently that's something I now do when I can't sleep) and I came across something that confused me.

In this previous post, Draco's private message to himself was mentioned. Now, I'd presumed that he was talking about Rowena Robins here, but alt_player seems to say it wasn't her he was talking about.

Or am I reading that wrong? Was it or was it not Rowena? If not Rowena, then who was he talking about? And why would he think his father had something to do with it? Who might Lucius send Draco's way?

Anyway. I'm all Confunded over here. Help?

That's great, thank you - I'd been confused about that too. I mean, I hadn't thought Lucius had really directed Rowena that way, but I had thought that Draco would think he might, and be dismayed (because of all people to direct toward Draco, Rowena?)

That's me too: I didn't think Lucius would either, but I thought Draco might think he would.

Only now I've had an even more ahem, "horrible" thought, and I'm even more horrified.

Concerning Hippos. Please tell me I'm barking up an even less unlikely tree.

ETA: Unless....oh. Oh HELL. Never thought I'd say it, but now I'm HOPING it's the less horrible of the two options of which I've just thought.

What?! Don't leave me hanging. :-) I had always assumed Rowena seduced Draco, that's what his post to himself was about, and that he was lying about it afterwards. Lots of new info- thanks, Admins, for clearing it all up!

Well. I didn't want to say because it's a HUGE spoiler if I'm right. However.

Thinking along the lines of who Draco could make sure never worked in the Protectorate again, my (horrid) thought was Dolores Umbridge. He starts talking about getting her sacked the next day on the lock. NO IDEA why He would suspect Lucius sent her to him though. But if so, explains his total disgust, and frustration that he didn't stop her.

My other horrible, horrible thought which I am hoping against hope isn't true, is: what if Lucius sent him one of the girls from Maidstone? And he's disgusted with himself because he didn't say no. Only thing against it is, how would he see to it she never worked anywhere in the Protectorate again? She would have been unable to work in the Protectorate in the first place, and in the second place would probably have been really happy never to work in that capacity (as a prostitute) again.

And so I find myself hoping that poor Draco was molested by the Pink Toad.

Or that I am completely wrong in both cases!
