These two posts from Barty and Lucius make me nervous.

Love that RR is implicated.

Why did Lucius lie, though? And is Barty not in on the scheme with L and Antosha? Or was the Private message from B to L written for someone else's benefit?

I think this is all part of Antonin and Malfoys plan. I wouldn't put it past them to have set RR up, hence her blaming Lucius.

The PMs are there so when MLE check back everything seems above board. And to give them a clear record to point at. If Barty wasn't part of the plan, wouldn't he ask Lucius to come in for questioning?
I think he sounds like he is asking questions he already knows the answer to. And having a record of Lucius's prompt, helpful response, only serves to make Lucius look good.
ETA: What part of Lucius's response are you considering a lie? Or is it his PM to Rachel you mean?
Maybe Barty really has asked him to investigate? In which case, this PM would support the idea that they are secretly in touch by other means.

Yes, I meant Lucius' pm to Rachel.

I agree with you; I'm sure it's all part of their plan, I'm just wondering where Rachel fits into it, and if she's also in on the plan. If she is, it makes me nervous because she hasn't told anyone in the Order. If she isn't, I'm worried they're going to implicate her in their scheme and then through torture incidentally find out about the Order.

I just have a feeling it's going to come out sooner rather than later. I hope Rachel knows what she's doing!

Also impending doom is whatever is going on with Pansy. It was theorized in an earlier comment that she found the locket...do we still think so? Or is it this latest challenge to do something harmful to people you care about?
