So far on today's Alternity: WTF and Triple WTF

Hmm. Several interesting things coming to light today!

First WTF: As if we needed further proof how much Corax Mulciber resembles an integral part of male anatomy; that bouquet takes the cake. Belladonna and oleander are poisonous, the red rose is obviously her, and the black ones are her dead husbands. The scary thing is that Corax doesn't strike me as the kind of person to bother with flowers and condolences, unless to send a message. Maybe he was involved?

What do you reckon Blaise's stepdad was killed because Blaise's solution for his latest task wasn't up to par? Throwing money at things is kind of lame after all. If he was, that makes me worry for a lot for Molly.Or even the Malfoys, or Rod Lestrange (because let's be honest, no one is going after Bellatrix). Or the Patils (even though I don't like Padma, I don't wish her family dead.)

Second WTF WTF WTF: This. Seriously.

The Tonks/Charlie thing kind of bugs me. I mean, I know they have been friends with benefits for a while, but doesn't Charlie also have a closer (but still open/polyamoric) relationship with two other dragonhandlers? I was reading that and wondering when he'd mention them. Maybe I missed something.

I think I'm most worried about Percy Wesley at the moment. Whatever he and Lucius are doing doesn't sound good.
I'm concerned he has moved closer to his stated ambition of becoming a Council wizard.

It's the fact he almost corrects himself from saying sir to Lucius. My worst case scenario is he has been marked and is therefore on one level Malfoys equal.

He did mention his experience with communication in relationships though.
He has said before that his other relationship is with a married couple who he cares for deeply but considers himself very much a secondary, I believe.
For example, they have a rule that neither of the couple are intimate with him on their own. That came up on one of his birthdays I think when they argued and he went to bed alone.

I don't like the idea of them being in harms way or showing Draco what it means. And it goes down this weekend, any ideas what gives?

I think it's the comment about ritualised execution that bothers me the most.
AK could be merciful in some guises but he has actively participated in some ritual, killed, and then thanked the person who got him involved.
Bills report implies he is pleased even proud of his actions.
Hopefully Percy won't now be asked to take a more active role in enforcing boundaries in the candidate challenge. My twisted mind thinks it would be a perfect way of bringing his new proclivities to light.

The part about that bugs me is that Albus a) knows them well enough to make the request b) doesn't seem to have any issues with intruding into something so intensely personal c) has apparently done this before.

I was thinking going to the forbidden forest, actually: "you've never been in harm's way!" "oh yeah? we were the only foals pure enough to talk to the centaurs! there was lots of harm available!!"

It actually makes it a little more evil, to me: if Sally-Anne is right that Blaise's mother really liked this husband, implying that she poisoned yet another one, or that she is personally poisonous, is particularly cruel.

On the other hand if he contributed to Blaise's mother's husband's demise, then it's less evil, because he's not taunting her, he's taking credit.

(Which is not to say that murder is less evil than taunting someone - just that saying "hi I killed your husband" is less evil, as a statement, than "nyah nyah lost another husband didn't you".)

I am not convinced that Alice's comment is proof about James/Lily; she is more speaking about herself, there, in my reading.

I do not remember the timing of canon prophecy; someone with access to canon will have to double-check. I think you're right about it being after Jul 1980, though; I can't see V knowing about the prophecy and /not/ moving for near to two years.

I don't know if it's more likely that he's either taking credit or taunting her. Both scenarios seem very Corax. I'm leaning toward taunting, just because it's the kind of thing he'd do, just to be awful. But he's also a murderous bastard, so I'm wavering.

Me too, definitely. And the way he speaks to Siz here makes me think that if you're right about a more active role, we can expect Percy to be as insufferable as ever, but with an added murderous edge.
