30 September
Padma berates Blaise for taking the book. Sally-Anne proposes a contest to trick Madam Umbridge into saying choice phrases. Justin orders more textbooks from Flourish and Blotts. Michael follows-up on a student mishap during the YPL activity. Madam Umbridge describes the next task awaiting the YPL.
1 October
Cedric reports strange behavior on the part of a Hufflepuff student. Arthur meets with parental resistance over the matter of vaccinations. Justin tells the ISS about the consternation brewing in Hufflepuff, over what appears to have been an unauthorized punishment. Linus talks to his journal.
2 October
Professor Dolohov announces a special Dark Arts demonstration on Saturday. Professor Sprout asks the Hufflepuff prefects to come see her. Draco wonders if a betting pool might be arranged for the demo. Padma volunteers Ravenclaw's prefects for any help that's needed. Professor Sinistra notifies her students of events that will figure in their studies. Linus discovers Byronic poetry.
3 October
Daphne looks forward to Saturday's duel. Hermione gets a few books from Evelyn. Cedric confers with Sprout and Sinistra on the subject of what to tell students asking about the two students whom Madam Umbridge allegedly punished. Lucius arranges to meet his former clerk for lunch. Frank succeeded in making contact with several of the people formerly on the DogStar Company's rolls, with Tonks's help. Harry works on his color-changing charms. Evelyn worries about an upcoming Defense lesson on boggarts.
4 October
Lucius confirms that he will be attending on Saturday. Susan logs her first entry behind the ISS lock. Padma consults Linus and Parvati about Daphne's musical and History Club.
5 October
Harry receives a letter from Sirius. Ron devises a scorecard for the duel. Justin suspects that sitting with Hydra will be too risky. Professor Lestrange prepares himself for the demonstration. Sally-Anne borrows a number of Occlumency texts from Professor Dolohov. Neville goes through Terry to ask his parents if he should read them. Terry relays their messages back and forth.
