Oh, Hermione.

I don't agree with Hermione's assessment of the situation, but I realize I'm spectacularly biased on the subject. What do you guys think?

One good thing is, Hydra should be able to tell Hermione one way or the other, "You're right" or You're wrong".

ETA: "If his head were a house, your picture would be hanging in almost every room."

:squeak:

E again TA: Oh, Hermione! Argh, why aren't you real so I can hug you and tell you OF COURSE he would, sweetie!

E yet again (sorry guys, I'm all feels over here) TA: Oh. I think I've just understood something. Poor girl! Hermione's right, this is complicated!

And, players, don't think I missed the hint of Austen!

I am glad Hermione called Terry out on his relentless Nice Guy-ing of her. I used to ship them like burning, but I can't go back to that ship unless I see evidence that Terry really does see her as her and not some idealized dream girl. And Terry is one of my favourite game characters! I was against Draco/Hermione when I first started seeing the hints of it because I thought Terry 'deserved' her more, but now I realize deserving is bullshit and Draco really is better for her because no matter what Hermione thinks now, he does see her for who she is.

Oh, Hermione. I've had that exact thought, that if somebody really knew me they wouldn't want me anymore. It's not true!

Right there with you on the Austen.

I know, I love Terry! I actually wish he would tell Hermione his feelings. I don't really understand why he hasn't, since there's absolutely nothing preventing THEM getting together (although maybe he has? And she told him the same thing she told Draco.). As to that, I kind of agree with Hermione there.

I wonder if this really does have a lot to do with what happened with Ollivander, because some rape survivors feel, I don't know, responsible? Dirty? And then they have trouble seeing themselves as worth much. Which breaks my heart if true!

Though it sounds like Draco might be able to relate, in that instance .

I've been on an Austen binge lately and had just been re-reading P&P. In fact, I had just read Darcy's 1st proposal the evening before this, so when I saw Hermoine describe what Draco said to her, I couldn't stop giggling.

As much as I like the idea of an alternity-verse Hermione/Draco pairing, it seems to me she's sincerely not interested. (In addition to her self-esteem problem that makes me want to give her a big hug.) When she says that the boys at school are so young, and the men in the Order are too much older or already involved with someone, it rings true to me - much more than the stereotypical "girls mature faster than boys" thing. Given her life experiences, even the ISS kids must to seem really young and sheltered to her.

(Sorry, I'd provide a link, but I haven't figured that out yet. First post here and all.)
