Okay, Sally Anne? I love you but you are pissing me off in this thread.

It's one thing to be "humiliating a vicious pureblooded mean girl at a party." It's quite another to refuse to speak up to help her when the potion that YOU GAVE HER causes her to become suicidal, and it's completely horrible of you not to tell Draco.

You couldn't say anything at the party. Fair enough. But would it have been that hard to write Draco a note at the end of the night, which he could have seen when he checked the journals next morning?

And that was a wenchy thing to say, that you can think of worse things than being forced to do a striptease. Easy to say that when it's never happened to you.

I realize you're trying to take up for your boyfriend, who was the one who kept it quiet since you and Pansy apparently didn't look at your journals at all today. He should have told Draco, and that is it.

Hermione don't you dare leave it at that.

Seems Pansy's crankiness is wearing off on others.

To be fair, Padma's message to Draco about "hav[ing] to just cut [my heart] out of my chest to stop it hurting so much." was a PM - Sally-Anne didn't have any reason to expect that she would act in such a way that Draco would ask for help beyond "uh how do I get her to stop fixating on me", which I can reasonably see as not her concern.

The rest of it, though, I agree with you. "There are worse things than being Imperiused to humiliate yourself! But I'm sorry you had to do something totally not as bad as the things I can imagine!" I mean, sure, there are, but Hermione is still more vulnerable than Sally-Anne, because Sally-Anne is a tempting target for a whole bunch of reasons but Hermione's legally an unperson. :|

I don't know. Sally Anne is being annoying, but frankly, it's Alice's job, not Hermione's, to call her on it. So Hermione is kind of pissing me off too, and has been since she told Draco his feelings weren't real.

I think the thing that ticks me off about Hermione and a lot of the Order adults is that it's really easy to be moral and virtuous when the choices aren't yours to make. The adults are too far to do much of anything, and Hermione's status, miserable as it is, precludes her from any action outside of being a shoulder to lean on. They- particularly Hermione in this case- are acting like there's a good choice to be made, when there isn't. Sally-Anne, Pansy, and Ron were absolutely in the wrong not to speak up when Draco asked, and yes, they probably should have sent him a note when it was happening, so he'd see it when he could and understand. But bringing someone's true feelings to the surface is not exactly the worst thing they could have done to Padma, and they had no way of knowing how badly she'd be effected.

Sally-Anne isn't exactly getting there in her apology to Draco.

"Hermione's right, I should have done that. I mean, she's right about that part, anyway."

She is definitely still qualifying her actions.
