Me too. I really did, more him than Dolohov; they've been our "good guy bad guys", and Raz really seemed like he would have been more able to... to be 'rehabilitated', I guess. But... :(

Heartbroken for Siz. Especially as I've had a sneaking suspicion for a few days that she may be pregnant. After all they were apparently trying, and she was trying to see Poppy when she overheard that argument.

The bit about Poppy and next fall seemed to indicate. I know it's ambiguous but I'm seeing nuances that make me think she might be.
It may be a little clichéd but canon and alternity are both full of orphaned or fatherless babies, both before the first war and right up to the end of deathly hallows. It wouldn't be that out of place.

I think she might have been - or possibly, might have thought she might have been. Those first few weeks of pregnancy are horribly fiddly, after all.

But it would seem that whether she was or only thought she might be, she's probably not anymore. Or she'd be asking if Poppy's potions were safe for someone pregnant.

(It's also possible she miscarried from shock. In which case she's also got that crushing weight sitting on her too.)

Yeah. I'm pretty sure, given the right motivation--and considering what's been going on with Siz, he could have gotten that--he's had the beginnings and edges of what could be a redemption arc, and

I'm really hoping that maybe he isn't dead and this'll be the turning point for him, but I really don't expect it.

But I would have loved to see how it would have turned out if--well.

Me too; I know the "green flash" is supposed to keep us from speculating, but I really do hope he survived somehow. Not just for Siz, or their child if she's pregnant, but to see how one of the good guy bad guys stops serving Voldemort. (The only one we've seen do that is Macnair, isn't it?)

Well--Selwyn, I guess. Otherwise--unless you count Snape, I think so. (Though there have been some implications that I'm not sure about.)

And Macnair didn't really have much of an arc for it. Raz has been building this way for years.

Yeah. Macnair showed up, tried to kill Harry, was convinced not to do so, Albus added him to the Order by fiat.

Selwyn may have been attempting a heel-face turn, but we don't know if he wanted Voldemort dead because Voldemort was dangerous to wizardkind or because he'd come to believe that the Protectorate was bad.

Raz, on the other hand... he was pretty much the classic "disillusioned henchman stops henching" arc, and it would have been nice to see it play out without "someone in the Order loves him just that much" or "someone he loves was killed" as motivations. :/

This. All of this. (I mean, I wouldn't have minded if Siz ended up on the Order's side had been the turning point--it was clear that there was a lot of foundation even before he met her, but--basically this)

You know, I wish there were a way to see only messages that anyone can see - no PMs, no order-only, no ISS - to get an idea of what, say, Dolohov might see in his journal. (Which might include non-played teachers (I don't know if any would have been commenting; Sprout certainly didn't do so publicly) and would almost-certainly include other students (if the journals thought their posts would be of interest to him), but sorting out what could and couldn't be seen even from the played characters is tough to do sometimes.)

Everyone sees PM headers (at least as long as they aren't under another lock, then only the people on that lock can see the headers), or at least who they're to.

But yes, it's the classic who-knows-what-when game, isn't it? Especially when we have to assume we aren't seeing everything...

The only way I can think of to do it would be to have someone post the subject line and a link to the entry as a new post to a community any time a non-locked PM or post goes up. And that'd be not very useful 90% of the time, and a distraction from events the rest of the time! (Well, that or cutting the entire text of any post that's private or locked, but that'd be enormously irritating (and also tedious).)

With Raz and all -- I'm really nervous about what Siz might say to Antosha about what she overheard with Poppy and so on, since Milland's been revealed to be Snape. Argh.

I--don't think she would--based on the report on when the asked her help with the locational astronomy thing, she trusts Poppy a lot. I think she would talk to her first.

But Poppy was arguing with Snape. As long as Siz didn't hear too much, Poppy can probably bluff that she disliked or even distrusted Milland and be convincing. And even if not, Siz cares for Poppy and will probably need her support in the days ahead.
And Notts wand is in order hands. If it found its way to the MLE anonymously it would possibly prove Nott killed Raz, giving Siz less reason to turn on those who might be rebels.
And she cares and Raz cared for Harry and Draco, and seemed sympathetic to Hermione. Part of her will probably be relieved about the escape.

And now we know where Ron went: he slithered up to Dolohov's office so he could slither into the cabinet (which was fortunately not warded!) and slither away with the bracelet!

This Animagus could be really useful at getting into places to observe. Just a pity, from a stealth point of view that he is soo colourful.
And there is the remotest possibility he could prove useful with Snake or Nagini.

That and the fact that he probably witnessed her removing Voldies bracelet and may even have had a (rather one sided )conversation with her. I bet he will have something interesting to say, if he can bear to talk about it.
And his emotions are probably quite complex. He has lost his headmistress, co head of the order and a trusted ally, also someone he probably admired and liked to some extent ,but in that process she saved Hermione who is a friend who he is much closer to. He is probably relieved Hermione was the one who lived and guilty for feeling that relief. Also, knowing Minerva was compromised by the monitoring device, and therefore at risk, he may feel although sad, it was not such an unexpected outcome. And second guess those thoughts too.
