Also known as "my reactions as I madly F5ed this afternoon".

I mean, at least Ron is okay, and he didn't end up becoming a Councilwizard, at least - and I have to wonder if his brother inadvertantly spared him that fate :(
It's sad how much the Protectorate has warped Percy from what he was in canon; he wasn't particularly likeable in canon, and was a little too impressed by power, but he wasn't... what he's become. Bill's right: "You poor stupid bastard. You've firmly set your feet on the road to Hell now."

(I'm also really happy that Harry didn't get the Mark; arrogance on Voldie's part, thinking he didn't need to control him, maybe?)

Justin is right, Padma and Seamus are going to be utterly insufferable next year! Is it completely awful of me, that I hope the two of them soon get a taste of just how in over their heads they really are?

I'm not entirely surprised the fourth was Percy, or that he put his lot in with Lucius' enemies. Still, awful as it is, part of me wishes it had been Ron, so Hydra wouldn't be quite so alone.

Well now we know who ratted out Lucius at least. I wonder how long it will take Barty Crouch and Dolohov to figure that one out?

Percy's made himself one hell of a pair of enemies there with his lust for power.

In better news, it looks like Justin and hydra have secretly tied the knot.

I even refreshed this time to see if anyone had posted this! XD

I was wondering if they'd restart their secret relationship, but I never suspected they'd get married!

Yes, Justin is trying to decide if people would call her Mrs Finch Fletchley or him Mr Lestrange.
Hydra isn't even 16 for a few more days so is it even legal? It wouldn't have been in Muggle Great Britain, where the age you can marry is 16 and until 18 you need parental consent.

I think in the Protectorate, any thing a council member Decides to do is legal, unless Voldie decides it isn't.

That's the real question for me - do they realize yet that it's not just Rod and Bella they're defying? As a council witch, Hydra would need the LP's permission even if she didn't need her parents'.

True, but I don't think they have any intention of letting the LP find out. That would be a disaster, if he did, and Bellaatrix wouldn't be much better. So I guess as long as it remains secret, anything is ok.

I hate to say it, but I think Seamus might be beyond help at this point. Its not like he doesn't know what to expect - if what happened to him 5th year didn't straighten him out, I can't imagine what would.

Padma, on the other hand, clearly has no idea and is in way over her head. If she somehow pulls a heel/face turn, maybe she'll bring Seamus with her.

Yeah, let's hope very hard that NO ONE checks.

I did have one thought though: since the tapestry self-updates (as it did when Raz died), would it now show that Hydra's married? Hope no one heard the chime!

I'm looking forward to the convo when they tell the Order, though.

"So, uh, remember that night when we all got totally plastered?" ;)

True. And a very worrying point.
I wonder if marriages are different. After all they talked about presenting, displaying the tapestries at weddings, in the past so I wonder if some action is needed to add someone.
Also, I can imagine the magic knowing if they used a binding spell, but if the marriage is purely ceremony and paperwork, how would the magic become aware.

And my thoughts have brought up another worry. What if they have used a binding spell? Sinistra spent months researching and planning hers and she knew the castle could have an effect on it and seemed to find hers went ok.
Will the castles magic or even the side effect of the binding itself cause problems? They probably aren't even aware that it could.

Yeah, I'm hoping they just did a registry marriage and not charmwork. (And of course Justin would totally think of a registry marriage as entirely sufficient, so that's a point in favour.)

Ooh, good point! If they did do a binding spell, and something goes wrong, they'll HAVE to at least tell Madam Pomfrey.

A question though: if it is only a registry marriage, could it be annulled if anyone finds out about it? (I'm thinking Bellatrix or Voldemort here) A binding spell is presumably permanent.

I have a feeling that if the tapestry did show her marriage, and Rod heard it, he would just laugh and keep his mouth shut, since his opposition to the relationship has been blackmailed out of him.

At least I HOPE, because if not, Justin had better watch his back.

Legally I believe it's hard to annul a marriage that has been consummated. Within Alternity, I suspect if Voldies word is not enough to dissolve a marriage, death of one or both parties would be preferred to tedious paperwork.

I found it interesting that Blaise asked Padma about the differences in marriage customs. Maybe talk about Parvati and Lizzies upcoming weddings will allow us to find out if the Finch Fletchleys are at any risk.

Eep! Lets hope it doesn't come down to death.

But . . . now that I think of it, Sally Anne's prophecy potion mentioned something about Hydra and Justin.

Item #578424562 that I really hope doesn't come true from that prophecy.

I'm glad people can't really tell the future. Knowing something might happen and waiting apprehensively for it is not fun. Better not to know.

ETA: Yes, it's very interesting that those two marriages were mentioned so soon after Justin and Hydra's.

Justin seems clueless. I hope one of them twigs to what's happening before they place themselves in any danger.
I'm a bit worried about him seeing Antonin without knowing, as he has spent so much time with Sinistra through her marriage that he has probably gained a lot of insight into the effects of marriage on someone's magic.

As always in these things I'm wondering if Justin is clueless or if Justin is playing clueless because he's keeping a secret here. (I mean, this is someone who's got the subtlety to deliberately friendly-fire Dolohov without getting caught.)

But yes, I expect Dolohov will notice something, the question is what.

So who is the TR Percy is approaching? Surely not Tom Riddle, I can't believe Crouch would use the LPs initials.

I also can't figure out R.

Ok, so from later comments R is Rowle.

Am I right in thinking Barty has poly juiced himself as Percy in order to make Rowle and The remaining Mulciber think Percy is crazily ambitious and overreaching himself?
That is so cruel but quite clever, though their pranks? seem a little childish for outright revenge. Or is this the Deatheater equivalent of leaving a horse head on someone's pillow?

I'm a little worried that Crouch found Percy's flat so easy to get into. It was Bills flat originally and warded by him. Has Percy got rid of Bills wards and started from scratch himself?

Because if Not, I'm worried for the wards the Order is using.

Be worried. Bill checked the wards and couldn't find anything wrong. :-/ I'm not surprised Crouch could get in - he's very good and no one could say otherwise - but his disdain was worrisome, and that Bill didn't find anything is more so.
