One of the things I love best in HP writing is when magical folk use figures of speech constructed in the same way that we Muggles design idiomatic phrases or metaphors except that they draw on experiences unique to Wizardom. Pansy just gave us a beautiful example:

Now it's interesting in a kind of sad way, like when you see a pile of people who don't yet know how to Portkey all landing on top of each other and you can't look away.
