keshwyn: "Read Instead" on the front of a television (reading)

Indeed, it is May, and consequently all hell is breaking loose. And if we were following that other canon's timeline, by the end of May, His Noselessness would have shuffled off this mortal coil, ceased to be, would in fact be an ex-parrot.

Which leads me to speculate as to whether our fearless writers are going to follow that, and then we get to spend the summer watching them try to sort out the almight mess the regime has been left in (yes please!) or whether it'll take a little longer to off the LP than otherwise might be expected...?

(Also, I would like to take this opportunity to say to the writers, I have enjoyed this immensely, might you consider writing a semi-annual, or perhaps quarterly broadsheet that gives us an occasional glimpse into what continues to happen in the alt-verse? Pretty please? :)

If we were following the canonical timeline, the "Final Battle" at Hogwarts would have been last week (May 1). So that ought to provide the non-answer you are looking for.

We've enjoyed this too, and lest you all scatter to the hills when the game does come to its conclusion, we do have some plans for additional "bonus content" - including, we hope, an update from our Alternity Cast Party which has been scheduled for a date after the game's end.

However, we here at Alternity are fond of correcting a lot of what we saw as flaws in the original material and in its author's choices. And one of JKR's flaws is not necessarily knowing when to shut up (Dear Gods, please, JKR, learn when to stop). So while we will try to satisfy the narrative needs, provide some Easter eggs, and other special glimpses into the Alternity world, we do anticipate that it will not continue in perpetuity. Certainly, we do not plan to return in 19 years for any Epilogues!

Huh, I thought it was later in May, too.

Either way, though, there's already at least one more Horcrux than in canon (eight rather than seven), and that's assuming neither Nagini nor Harry are Horcruxes, so I think we have a while to go.

(How does Horcruxisation even work? Voldie tried to have Harry make a snitch into one by having him hold it and kill Ridley; could Voldie have Horcruxised Harry by holding him while AK-ing his parents? Might Barty's wedding ring (if he got one of those) be a Horcrux because he had it while killing Daphne, or is there some level of intent required?)

I believe in canon Harry's horcuxification was accidental and a result of Lily's sacrificial protection causing the ricochet?

That's my understanding. But Harry's head's been hurting. I thought that was supposed to be an indicator in canon that he was a horcrux?

I've been reading it as 'being possessed causes migraines', myself.

Goodness knows all kinds of things cause migraines... ;P
