I must admit that I was hoping that Hydra would go this route.

The headmaster is more than capable of escaping himself from enforcers and Savitha. And together he and Barty could best Bella. I can see him doing in Bella with a variation of Molly's canon line; "No more children!"

That would certainly be the optimal outcome, here. I hope what happens looks something like that.

I don't know, perhaps I'm too used to things going horribly wrong, but I am kind of expecting something to go horribly wrong. And there are a lot of things here that could.

Things that are going to go horribly wrong:

Desai looking so very perky about the prospect of slaughtering unarmed children.

Barty having Desai "by his side" for this (though I'm hoping that will go horribly wrong FOR DESAI).

Rookwood's journal being used to bait Snape and the Longbottoms (please Snape notice he's way too coherent).

Probably everything staging back and forth through Narcissa's pantry....

I've been yelling at Alice about "Rookwood's bait". Snape to me seems more skeptical, but Alice is letting her heart lead her.

I do think Barty is baiting Desai. Also think that Lana's magic is going to backfire on her. :)

But so much F5'ing going on. Wish as usual that Barty and Dolohov had a secure journalistic way to communicate.

And I'm trying to think how they could find out about it other than Snape noticing something off, and... not coming up with much, which can't be good. (Though there's always the old standby of doing anything about it being delayed by plot explosions elsewhere)
