In a way, this could be taken as further proof of Muggle inferiority (if these writers haven't been co-opted, a la Mozart etc). The characters I can remember Carrow mentioning are Justine and now this Mme. Defarge, both obviously signs of the moral turpitude of Muggle writers.
Interesting that he's "allowed" to post about these Muggle authors in his journal, though I can't imagine anyone but Voldie daring to object. I'm wondering if these writers were co-opted after all. Man, how do you contradict something like that?
