Glad you are still re-reading! I personally did start catching up on Y2 where I'd left off, a few weeks ago, and then got pulled away by other priorities. But please do continue to discuss!

I could have sworn the March link is to Y2. We're having petrifications and Black's Paralysis, wasn't that Y2?

Anyway, the career-development handwringing from Ron, Neville, Sally-Anne, and Pansy is kind of hilarious, given that none of them have the slightest clue what they want to be when they grow up. Pansy should totally have created her line of greeting cards that insult you when you open them. I'm pretty sure there'd be a market for this.

The original Kiss a Ginger Day! I wonder if Sally-Anne ever fessed up to Ron that she and Pansy made it up. (This was inspired the previous month by Ron's resentful jealousy toward Harry for getting a bazillion Valentine's Day cards.)

The conversation between Sally-Anne and Ron about her Sorting is fascinating to read now. I like that Sally-Anne apparently told the Sorting Hat that she didn't believe in Fair Play. Also, the theory that Kat Bundy was quiet in part because back in primary school she got manipulated into saying something that got someone else in really serious trouble is an interesting one. I wish we'd remembered that as it's definitely a story we could have revisited.

The conversation between Sally-Anne and Neville after the Dark Arts try-out is something I remembered pretty well.

Peg and I talked about how in a sense it was a gun conversation between the child of a northwoods hunter, and the child of a cop.

And the insect infestation that SA, Ron, and Pansy unleashed on Ravenclaw!

I can't remember if Sally-Anne ever told Dolohov about that escapade. I imagine if she did, he'd have found it HILARIOUS, even though some of the victims were other pets of his...

Ron's birthday curse was truly epic. Padma totally deserved the plague of bugs. The rest of Ravenclaw house, far less so.
