Hermione asks Harry's permission to go to the library on a fact-checking mission. Ginny begins another post only to black out midstream. Dean alerts everyone and takes Ginny to the hospital wing immediately. Lana discovers Hermione and Penny Clearwater, petrified, near the library. Professor McGonagall cancels the Quidditch match. Sally-Anne warns Ron not to get caught. She also tells Pansy to check in when she can. Professor McGonagall announces the arrest of Amycus Carrow in connection with the attacks. Narcissa speaks to several people following Sanji Patil's funeral. Madam Pomfrey apprises Molly and Arthur to Ginny's condition.
2 May
Sally-Anne demands the story from Ron. Sirius reports, very briefly, that he is on the run. Harry complains after being reprimanded by his Father. Professor McGonagall gives the Order the details about four students' trek into the Forbidden Forest. Rodolphus Lestrange finds the whole business curious.
3 May
Molly forwards the letters she received from Ron and his friends. Arthur mourns the losses in the camps, particularly the last child they failed to rescue before the camps were cut off due to the epidemic. Sirius takes stock of his situation.
4 May
Narcissa exposes an apparent mixup at a robe shop.
5 May
Regulus attempts a crude amputation of his remaining hand.
6 May
Pansy waits anxiously for news. Madam Pomfrey summarizes possibly pertinent news stories for Sirius. Susan shares the Quidditch world's shock that Nigel Cullenden has been revealed to be the arch-traitor, Sirius Black. Lucius updates Pansy more completely on Regulus' status and the events of the day. Madam Pomfrey informs the students of a series of pamphlets on safety that have arrived from the Office of Underage Wizard Protection.
7 May
Seamus chuckles over the pompous and condescending tone of the safety pamphlets. Padma continues, with her family, to progress through the mourning process. Madam Pomfrey complies, grudgingly, with the OoUWP's request to reprint its messages to the students in her personal journal.
