Pansy beat me to pointing out that Sally-Anne's still quiet. I'd like to think she's okay, but if two people have noticed... it really seems like a long time for her to not say anything!
I'm thinking it's something to do with the escapees that's keeping her from responding.

Nasty treating her as a sort of whipping girl, but not something horrible.

Date: 2010-06-21 02:59 am (UTC)The Scourge hit the Stretton's estates really hard -- they were fully aware early on that the Ministry was lying about the illness, which is why they quarantined their family, including Sally-Anne, during a period when the Ministry was insisting that there was no danger to wizards. For all that Sally-Anne chafed at the restrictions, she was extremely lucky that they DID keep her and Jeremy inside (and that she was too much of a self-protecting Slytherin to do more than hover overhead as Jeremy counted bodies). She was genuinely vulnerable to infection, and could have died if she'd been exposed. I'm not sure if this was clear from Sally-Anne's posts, but the Strettons let her and Jeremy out of the house because Jeremy implied that they were showing disloyalty with their distrust of the Ministry's statements that they weren't in danger. One of the odd things about Sally-Anne's situation is that she could get the Strettons into enormous trouble if she reported any suspected disloyalty or subversive behavior, and the Strettons know it.
