There are a fair number of fanfics that have Ginny in Slytherin. Particularly those that come out of the authors' frustrations with how all Slytherin's were tarred with the same brush in cannon. Since I see a fair bit of that in this game, particularly in how Sally, Pansy, Harry and even Draco are being portrayed it doesn't surprise me at all.
Ah, I see. I'm not sure if I believe her, myself - maybe I'm just in suspicious-mode now, but her post to Hydra sounds like she's trying very hard to win her trust. She forgives her, she wants to be her friend (haven't people remarked on how lonely Hydra seems?), she's afraid of her family too (it's obvious Hydra's afraid of her mum), and then "I could have been your dormmate" = I'm just like you, you can trust me. Which is kind of a funny thing to say: I could be a Slytherin, you can trust me! It sounds like something a Gryffindor would say to try to gain a Slytherin's trust. But actual Slytherins like Sally-Anne know perfectly well that you can't go around trusting people just because they're in your house.
I hadn't seen any fanfics with Ginny in Slytherin, though it doesn't really surprise me. I think portrayals of characters with close sortings skyrocketed after Hermione said the Hat considered her for Ravenclaw
Well Percy has, quite rightly, bitten her head off. I rarely sympathize with Percy, but in this case... oh yes very nasty thing Ginny did unless there was some specific history there that we the readers are unaware of.
I sympathize with Percy a lot... I love the way he's being played, although I'm scared as heck for him. Poor Molly and Arthur - this is so much worse than him getting recruited into the Ministry in canon.
But yeah, that was very sneaky of Ginny. I'm wondering what she's going to do next... and what she wanted to say to Narcissa. I'm leaning toward more blackmail, but the girl's sure got guts if she wants to blackmail Narcissa Malfoy.
I really hope blackmailing Narcissa was not on Ginny's mind... that would be particularly stupid. Blackmailing your brother is one thing, but attempting to blackmail Narcissa would be... *shudder* For once I'd agree with the typical Slytherin attitude toward Gryphindors, 'The bravery just masks stupidity' if she was really going that rout.
I'm also mystified as to why she jumped straight to the great, big, dangerous, double-edged sword of blackmail when a 'Could you give this to Mrs. Malfoy, or Mr. Malfoy to give to his wife, please?' should have been sufficient. Or why she didn't use an owl, a journal private message, the floo network or some other method.
Well, she is only eleven. Maybe it was just a silly decision.
But I think she's picked up on their parents' reactions to Percy enough to start distrusting him. She knows he's her best chance to get something to Narcissa without having it checked by twenty house elves or aurors on the way, and she thinks Percy would have opened it or asked a lot of questions about what was in the letter. And if she was going to blackmail Narcissa...
Actually, you know what I think it is? I think she's figured out that Lucius is having an affair. And maybe that's why she doesn't mind if he opens the letter, because she's put a spell on it that will mark him somehow if he does, and then Narcissa will see that anyway. I guess it could be something more innocent, but I have no idea what.
