Truly. And yet he is so completely blinkered when it comes to Voldemort. I mean, really. As long as he remains unquestioningly loyal and keeps telling Harry his Father's just really busy looking out for everyone, then...
I guess what I'm saying is that it's not just Harry who can be oblivious. If Draco can't see that Voldemort is evil and to be feared rather than obeyed, then he's missing a Really Big Thing. At least Harry sees a lot more clearly than Draco does that there's a problem with the side their 'fathers' have chosen.
I only wonder when it will come to a breaking point between them. It was really interesting to see Draco saying some of it out loud today.
I'll admit this is one of the first times I've felt for Draco in this game. He's Harry's whipping boy, you know? And now he's asking if Hermoine's been Crucio'ed before. Looks like he's not all bad.
The interactions between Draco and Hermione are usually off-screen, but from what we can see, they have this very tenuous sort of mutual respect thing going on, and they sort of dance around one another a lot. I wish we could see more of it, because it's fascinating to know how their interactions could be shaping his perspective about muggle born witches and wizards, and they spend such a long time at one another's throats in the series that it is just interesting to think of the two of them being forced into having to get along so often.
I want to agree with you, but the follow up, about Voldi's Crucio being different makes it looks more like he's trying to prevent her from spilling the beans.
Aside from that the idea that a 14-year old has enough experience with Crucio to be able to tell the difference makes me weep.
