These girls. They just stop me dead in my tracks sometimes, as with this subthread about how they'll never go anywhere without each other.
The love and loyalty that canon shows us between the trio comes out in other friendships in this game, and Pansy and Sally-Anne are top of the list in my reading. Here's to you, players. You make me tear up in the best way.
Whose friendships are you particularly moved by,

Date: 2012-02-04 05:27 am (UTC)I still mourn for the lack of the trio here in Alternityverse. It's painful beyond the sadness of Hermione's situation, or the way Harry's position has left him stunted and isolated, or the way Ron spins off-kilter because he lacks the sort of male best friend who would be an idiot with him--beyond all those individual losses, I miss the trio.
The other alternity friendship that I found surprisingly moving is/was the funny, transgressive, sad friendship Pansy had with Regulus Black. If you haven't seen it, have a look at her comments on his last post (http://alt-regulus.dreamwidth.org/7783.html?nc=36&style=mine#comments), some of them from the anniversary of his disappearance.

On the adult side, I love Alice's relationships with pretty much everyone, and watching her try to be there, in difficult times, even though her actual presence to help is limited.

It is no end of sad to see Harry and Ron not be the best of all friends, and to see his friendship with Hermione so imbalanced and warped. But I've found his relationship with Draco to be fascinating -- and am looking forward to seeing how it develops!

Date: 2012-02-06 03:46 am (UTC)What do you make of the lines in relation to Hydra?
The second Yeats poem has some lines for which there aren't icons (yet?): That last phrase seems especially apt for Alternity, I think.

I've always thought they foreshadowed an unhappy ending for her, where she gives up the life she really wants, but as I get more and more attached to her and she comes into her own more and more, I'm really hoping that's not the case! Hydra has become one of my favourites in the game.

It might sound funny, but I really like the relationship between Padma and Lavender; they might be mean girls to other people, but there's a core of genuine fondness to the way they interact.
I also love the sweet friendship that Sirius and especially Remus have with Alice.
