In another fandom I frequent, the term Emotionally Complex Response (or Emotionally Complex Reaction) is in frequent use. Sometimes when you read something, all you can say is, "Oh, [charactername]."

Today for me it's "Oh, Severus."

You know, one of the interesting things about that comment is that Snape calls Harry 'Mr Potter'. Has he done that all along? Is he trying to condition Harry to think of himself as Potter not Marvolo?
