Yep. Particularly because (and I just now made this connection) Demelza's sister is probably the Miss Robins with whom Lucius had an affair, and who Draco had as well. EEEEK.
Also, "they're just property after all." Ouch. Headache is back.
This is the worst part. Because we don't even know if we're going to know all the details - because people might get told off-journal! - and I want to know all the details. For all of it! Everything! :f5: :f5: :f5:
Although, well-done Raz's player. Because you've just reminded me that Raz is a Death Eater.
I mean, I know he is but he's so sweet with Siz and with helping Harry etc that I actually really like him.
Same with Tosha. I frigging love Tosha. He's awesome. And then Barty's comment the other day about the three pelts whacked me around the head and reminded me that Tosha (my favourite character) is a Death Eater and a murderer. Which I know but it tends to slip my mind because he's ace.
For whatever reason I've been hearing Tosha in my head with the voice of the actor who played Morden in Babylon 5. He's so helpful! He's so willing to use his influence to get people what they need! He makes such clever comments! He is totally fine with murdering people by the job lot!
I noticed he sent his PM to Hermione and Harry. We know she can send PMs without Harry (she sent one to Draco on the 8th), but three possibilities occur to me, two of them grim:
1) Terry didn't know if she had her journal, since it might have been taken away as punishment, and wanted Harry to be able to relay the message if her journal was taken away for a prolonged period of time (least grim) 2) Reading about Hermione humiliated the way he was had him forgetting he could send messages just to her (more grim) 3) Something about how she was stopped, or about Raz's direction to "take care of your property", or Harry's agreement to do the same, re-activated the "Hermione is property" charm on the journals (most grim)
Hydra hits it right out of the park: "What Teddy's doing - she should be the one who decides who to tell, and what to do about it. Watching the whole Order argue about what to do earlier this week, without even asking what she wanted...like they all knew better - it wasn't right."
(This is part of what's made me so sad about Draco having feelings for Hermione: he knows she isn't an animal, he knows she isn't property, and he literally couldn't, even if he would have which he wouldn't, use his authority to force her into anything. But I don't know if they could have a relationship as equals, at least not yet, and unlike Jeremy and Maureen, he sees her every day and has for years.)
Hydra's right, and I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't catch that particular subtlety.
As for their relationship, you're right that it couldn't happen at present, because he's having to concentrate on being a good little councilwizard in public, and he's right to worry that it'll mean he DOES think that. Not that it does, but that it affects how he sees her, without his even meaning it to. He's doing the protective thing because I think he thinks it's the only thing he CAN do for her.
Hydra's right again when she says that Hermione is clever, and a witch, and I'm glad to hear she is afraid after all. I just keep having visions of Hermione being tortured by Bellatrix in Deathly Hallows, and that was awful enough, but this guy likes to dissect things, which is much less easy to heal from than having words carved into her arm! And if she's not scared of him, it's that much easier to lure her into dangerous situations.
Still hoping for a good outcome re: Draco's feelings. Because I think if he didn't have them, he'd be less....human. And that could get really scary.

But, babe, if you don't want anyone to know about your feelings, you aren't doing a very good job of hiding them.
ETA: can't figure out how to fix link, but it works, and you guys get my drift, right?

oh, good

Date: 2014-04-12 03:11 am (UTC)And of course Draco was the first comment. Which made me squeal. (we all know alt-draco is my crack these days, right?)
And Terry, further down on his post. He loves her too. Of course he does! Hermione's lovely.
And boy is that going to be a hard decision.
