Hello! I usually am a lurker, but this game is just too much fun not to throw in my two cents. And I love a good puzzle.

Anyhoo... I was wondering. Is Flamel the new friend that Bellatrix reported making?

Yes, I think you've got it exactly.

So... the Order knows where the Stone is, Bellatrix doesn't (probably meaning nobody outside the Order does), except that I sort of thought that Harry heard Macnair say he had it (http://alt-harry.livejournal.com/7874.html). Either I'm misinterpreting, or Harry misheard, or (most interesting) Macnair was lying to Quirrel by claiming to have the stone. In which case, what is Macnair aiming for? His motives are becoming very interesting very quickly.

I think Lucius mentioned that Macnair messed up twice before -- perhaps this is his attempt to be the hero and save the day to get back into the Dark Lord's good graces? He doesn't seem to be doing a very good job, though...

It's interesting -- we don't know a lot about Macnair from the books, nor how he really fits into this world. It'll be interesting to see where he falls.

I'm also fascinated with Quirrel. In the novel, he was such a wet blanket... other than that whole "posessed" thing. It's pretty clear that none of the Order are affiliated with him, so what on earth does he hope to accomplish, and why? He doesn't strike me as being particularly good, and Macnair doesn't strike me as being particularly bad.
