I have been meaning to say "Oh, Ernie" in sympathy ever since his post about needing to find Fang.

I know. I kind of wonder if we'll get to see a conversation between him and Susan at some point where he finds out she tried to recruit him, and he turned it down to protect his family ... or if that'll hurt too much. Ouch.

Exactly. He's always been one to consider his words quite carefully - in-game, I was interpreting it as "Goddammit, Perks, you *are* merciless, and I don't know that I have the words for an answer, whether you accept it or not."

On a possibly brighter note (or possibly not): I got to wondering the other day, if a Fidelius secret keeper were legilimised, would the legilimens be able to get into the Fidelius'd property afterward? Or does sharing the secret require an act of volition from the secret keeper?

Canonically, I believe it requires an act of volition; that's why you can't make a house elf a secret-keeper.

Well, in his strikeout he was unsure. So you could argue he's not outright lying, just presenting the most favorable interpretation.

(Yes, I'm stretching definitions of things, but I think there's a distinction between him saying that while believing the crossed-out sentiments, and while believing that it's definitely untrue.)

From an Egyptian magical perspective, he might well be operating from an "I assert it and so it will be true" standpoint, as well. In that case, I can see him only wanting to put words in the clear that affirm his desired outcome.

Hermione's conversation with Draco is giving me all the feels and making me want to fistpump the air, even though like Mrs. L I more or less adore Siz. Go Hermione! Also good!boyfriend!Draco is the best Draco, as far as I'm concerned.

The funny thing is, last night, I did get House Robes! And a wand! (The husband has been out of town for work four out of the last five weeks, and his last pass was through Orlando, so he brought me a very nice treat from the Harry Potter shop.) So now, because of timing, I will forever associate them with Terry Boot :)
