Back in mid-November, there was speculation that Auror Lamont might be in league with a rebel group.

Bill, at least, thinks that that may be the case.

Ahahaha I was just coming in here to post that link because CALLED IT TOTALLY CALLED IT. (I made my suspicions explicit to one of the players, who has been rather biting their lip on commentary since.)

Your point 11 from that thread is what convinced me it was likely back then ("It is not useful to kill already disabled targets when actively searching for information and when under specific orders to not take out any wizards permanently; killing Stephen risks Barty noticing that she disobeyed."), so I can only imagine how much lip/tongue/entire face the player in question must have been biting :D
