third, it's kinda cheesing me off that Ron has yet to apologize, yet it's been almost an hour since Alice told him to. Cough it up, Weasley, cough it up.
All of the players have lives that may include spouses/significant others, children, jobs, illnesses, parties, tickets to things... Sometimes there are things that ought to be our character's first priority, that can't possibly be the player's first priority.
If it's a significantly long and noticeable gap, sometimes we make up a story to explain it, but for an hour or two or even three -- we count on our audience to play along with the illusion.
I mean, I love it when people are obsessively refreshing! But it can totally make it look like a character is dragging his feet when that's totally not what we're going for.
