Ron checks on Pansy. Sally-Anne learns she's to serve her detentions with Healer Kerr. Professor Sinistra extends her office hours. Lavender tries to get back in the swing of lessons. He also goes to Professor Sinistra for contraband food. Susan tells Sally-Anne that the potion has been delivered. Linus gets caught. Hermione lets Harry know that he has been deemed too risky to invite for tutoring with the others.

Justin thanks Mrs Weasley and Mrs MacMillan for the invitations he received for the holidays. Professor Sinistra offers copies of her notes to her O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. students. Madam Pomfrey confirms that Sally-Anne and Pansy will be coming to the Order's tutoring.

Madam Umbridge meddles with a few more students before she allows them to go home. Sally-Anne receives a harsh punishment for trying to bluff Capper into calming himself. Harry checks on Capper through Michael Corner. Lee passes on the word that Umbridge clearly intends for Sally-Anne (and maybe others) to fail their exams.

Harry muses on the Galleon about how to get rid of Umbridge. Someone lists her bosses and proposes turning them against her. Another suggests organizing a coordinated journal message petition. A third thinks of getting parents to write. Someone points out that they need real reasons, not just dislike. Hydra invites others to sit with her at lunch. Michael encourages Sally-Anne as she tries out for the Slytherin team. Ron finds this surprising. Linus serves detention for his involvement in the duelling club.

9 December
Madam Pomfrey confirms to Professor Dolohov that the last of the immediate treatments for the club's participants are concluded. Professor Sinistra counsels Linus during his detention. Ron mocks the day's YPL lesson, all about etiquette and social rank. Madam Umbridge reports that it was successful. Cedric offers Linus some advice about regaining his stature as a prefect. Harry assembles his roster for the next match. Ginny congratulates Troy Derwent on making the cut.

10 December
Ginny also asks her eldest brothers for advice. Michael teases Sally-Anne gently about her success. Seamus takes a much less charitable position about Harry's decisions. Harry thanks Lucius for his gesture on behalf of the team (and Harry personally).

Lucius changes his paternal tone when he blames Percy for delaying the timing of Harry's present. Snape informs the Order of Hermione's Galleon invention. Percy cancels lunch with Penny in order to focus on his work. Madam Umbridge attempts to win Professors Lestrange and Dolohov's support with a new project. Professor Dolohov expresses his rage over her presumption to Lucius and Barty. Penelope contacts Karoline Moon to go get a drink after work. Arthur tries to talk some sense into Percy. Barty Crouch, Jr. invites Bella for an evening's mayhem.

12 December
Molly celebrates Charlie's birthday. Charlie counts his blessings. Professor Sinistra enters the final stages of the term.

13 December
Hydra contemplates auditioning for the revue. Hermione arranges for Justin to see Sirius on Saturday. Ron goes to Sally-Anne for help with his audition piece.

Pansy reassures Harry about Justin's trustworthiness. Percy looks for Bill. Narcissa approves of the MLE party. Charlie explains to Tonks why he and Bill left in a hurry. Ron anticipates having fun in the revue.

Professor Slughorn summons Harry and Draco to meet with him at the end of the day's lessons. Susan puts some Hufflepuffs in their places. Charlie smuggles some dragon's blood to Madam Pomfrey.

Neville offers a snapshot of his studies as the term winds to a close. Harry announces try-outs for replacement Quidditch players, since more than half his team has been benched. Sally-Anne contemplates going for a Chaser's slot.

Ron gloats with the twins over Slytherin's misfortunes. Cedric rants to two of his classmates who concealed their roles in the duelling club from him. Sirius tinkers with a project.
